Responsibilities

1. Class Instruction:

  • Plan and deliver age-appropriate and engaging dance lessons aligned with the studio’s values.
  • Instruct a variety of dance styles to students ranging from 18 months to adults.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive atmosphere where students feel safe and encouraged to express themselves.

2. Choreography:

  • Create choreography for dance routines that align with the studio’s commitment to
    age-appropriate content.
  • Incorporate creativity and passion into choreographic elements to inspire students.

3. Individualised Attention:

  • Provide personalized attention to students, recognizing and nurturing their unique abilities and qualities.
  • Support students in their personal growth, self-confidence, and self-esteem through
    positive reinforcement.

4. Safety and Inclusivity:

  • Prioritise safety in all aspects of instruction, including costume selection, choreography, and music choice.
  • Ensure an inclusive and welcoming environment for students of diverse backgrounds and
    abilities.

5. Community Building:

  • Actively participate in building a warm and supportive dance community within the studio.
  • Engage with students and their families beyond dance routines, supporting their dreams
    and aspirations.

6. Professionalism:

  • Uphold the studio’s values of professionalism meeting passion.
  • Demonstrate commitment to ongoing professional development in dance instruction.

Qualifications

  • WWCC
  • Experience as a dance instructor with expertise in various dance styles would be an asset.
  • Strong understanding of child development and age-appropriate teaching methods.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
